Last Christmas my mom pointed to a small box in the Christmas tree and said "Oh Robin, look! That gift just appeared there. I think it's for you." Seeing as how I'm not 7-years-old, I knew it didn't actually just *appear* there (obviously Santa left it), but I played along and unwrapped the box. Inside was an antique gold locket, inscribed: "Nancy from Albert 10/4/41". My grampa gave this locket to my grandma just before they were engaged. It was the best present I could possibly have asked for! Neither of my grandparents are still alive, and I wish so desperately that I could have known them in my adult life and asked them tons of questions about their lives together. For now, though, I'm just so happy to have this locket close to my heart. #flashbackfriday
