Tom first climbed Denali 50 years ago and was revisiting the mountain at age 78. Not one for #newfangled gear, he was quite content with his Korean War vintage #bunnyboots, strap on crampons and his trusty 60/40 anorak. He inspired us each day with a fresh joke. As the Alaska Range was dry (no snow since 8 April) his humor for the day was, "I'm like the snow today - old and crusty." Youth is in the heart & soul, a state of mind that keeps one happy. By this measure Tom is 18. Proud. #wildsalmondenali
