Wet start to the work week. With its heavy pollution and summer / autumn rains, Beijing can be a gray city. Sometimes dreary. Bicycles and pedestrians fight for space at a crossing under a bridge in the city's Central Business District. The Beijing of old was known for its sea of cyclists, but as Chinese have become more affluent, cars are much more common and traffic jams a common pain.
