Coils of Magnetic Field Lines on the Sun: NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory zoomed in for a close-up of tight packs of coils around one active region on the sun on Nov. 18-19, 2013. The bundles of coils are actually charged particles swirling along magnetic field lines. Other field lines heading off to the left are more elongated and tapered. The images were taken in extreme ultraviolet light.
