My name is Katya Gray, I am 15 years old and live in Sydney, Australia. I was born in England and moved to Australia when I was 4. I started ballet at a local dance school when I was 9, along with other styles.

I was there until the beginning of this year when I moved to the McDonald College. I board full time in order to fit in about 25 hours a week of classical ballet training and my academics too.

My love for ballet really took off when I watched the Australian Ballet perform Swan Lake and ever since ballet has been my passion in life. I love the discipline, hard work and wonderful sense of achievement. My favourite dance quote is: "Dance enables you to find yourself and lose yourself all at the same time". My biggest inspirations are Darcey Bussell, Sarah Lamb and Svetlana.

It is my dream to one day move back to my home country, England and dance in a company professionally there.
