Chinese scientists and their international counterparts have cracked the puzzle of successfully breeding pandas in captivity. After decades of disappointment, this year’s bumper crop at the Wolong National Nature Reserve managed by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, showed us fourteen, undeniably cuddly, cubs. I accompanied Dr. M. Sanjayan from The Nature Conservancy and a camera crew filming for PBS and National Geographic Television, a new series on the relationship between humans and wild nature.
