This is WOODHENGE, which predates Stonehenge. There are several ancient sites that surround Stonehenge, each built on top of a pre-existing site over thousands of years, serving different function for each culture along the way. At one time, these pegs were thick wood pillars as high as 9 meters. Now these concrete placeholders allow visitors a glimpse into our past.
