It's here!
Know that line in the national anthem, "Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there"? This is the flag that was still there after the British attacked Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, the manuscript of the lyrics to the song that became our national anthem was placed on display beside the flag that inspired it. The song is 200 years old this year.
The manuscript will be here on loan from the Maryland Historical Society through July 6. Come see it before the twilight’s last gleaming.
