One of the most all-time locations for big-mountain scenery, 14k camp on Denali. Sultana, better known as Mt. Foraker, is visible on the right. Back in 2000, I ditched classes my sophomore spring of college for the chance to come here. As I would later learn, getting up big mountains is all about getting the weather - but that trip we enjoyed some beginners luck and summited the mountain twice, once via the West Buttress and again via the Cassin Ridge. Later, I came here annually to work as a guide.
