2011年，金秀贤在首次担当男主角的电视剧《Dream High》中把一无所知空有天赋的乡下少年宋森动历尽波折成长为大明星的喜怒哀乐表演得淋漓尽致，成为当年月火迷你剧收视率冠军，并获得东京国际电视节海外作品特别奖及瑞士金玫瑰国际电视节最佳青少年电视剧奖等多项国际奖项。他由此被演艺界选为年度最佳新人演员，在2011年KBS演技大赏上揽下最佳新人、人气及情侣奖三项荣誉。

2011: Dream High and singing career debut
He became a household name in 2011, playing a country bumpkin who turned out to be a musical genius in the teen drama Dream High. As the only young actor in a cast of idols, Kim studied song and dance for three months at JYP Entertainment to pull off the required scenes in the drama.
For the drama's soundtrack, he recorded two songs, his solo "Dreaming" as well as the title track "Dream High" with the rest of the cast. He appeared in several music programs and concerts after the drama's completion and even made a cameo in the pilot episode of its second season.

This is one of my favourite drama of KimSooHyun. With his passion towards acting, he tried his best in every drama! The director of Dream High was so impressed with his acting during filming so he "upgraded" our Oppa from a supporting role to the leading role!!! And Oppa in reality life really as similar as #SongSamDong who is full of passion, humble but confident in himself, never gives up his dream, keeps the faith while facing the difficulties... That's what I learn from KimSooHyun!
