They join heaven to earth, sip nectar from the flowers and carry the seeds of life from one flower to another. The #honey #bee. Without them we wouldn't have apples, oranges, blueberries, cherries, cucumbers, avocado ~ the list is long. They pollinate at least one in 3 bites of the food we eat.
When I first heard about colony collapse disorder, I felt heart sore, but now I am learning there is so much we can do to be better stewards for little hardworking bees. Just one way to help is to chose to buy organic, non GMO foods. Or plant lavender and rosemary, it doesn't take much space, a few pots tucked into the garden, balcony or front step will start to create a haven, a pesticide free environment. #savethebees #love @savethebeesaustralia @flowhive
