Photo by @Tim Laman: Rhinoceros Hornbill feeds on figs in the rain forest canopy in Borneo. Wonder how I got this shot? See the behind the scenes of the tree I had to climb at @Tim Laman. I climbed over 30 meters up a rope and hid in a small blind in the canopy in the rain forest of Gunung Palung National Park, hoping to photograph orangutans coming to feed at a stranger fig tree. No luck with orangutans, but this rhinoceros hornbill (personally my vote for most awesome bird in Borneo) and many other animals came. The so-called "horn" of this bird is actually hollow and very light, and is purely an ornament. #birds, #Borneo, #Indonesia, #saveGPorangutans, @thephotosociety
