HWY 2 Central Washington ~

In the not too distant past, before the mechanization of agriculture, people worked the land. They lived close to the farms and ranches that provided sustenance to their families and our nation. Houses, schools and churches were nearby. While we benefit from increased productivity in agriculture, the romanticism of life before chemical fertilizers, GPS driven tractors and migrant farm labor has a certain allure. An old school house, windows absent in a crisp fall sunset, represent this longing for a life I never knew. An existence I imagined would be interesting yet defined by hardship and toil. #seeforyourself
