On view now at our New York headquarters is Mannequin Articulé - a wonderful artist mannequin which will open our 19th Century European Art sale on November 6. Used for inspiration, such models were found in the studios of artists such as Michelangelo, Titian, Edgar Degas, and Gustave Courbet and are the unsung heroes of art history. Produced in Paris, this model has moveable joints, arms, hands, legs and feet. Mannequin Articulé offers a rare insight into the studio life and working process of 19th century artists.
