“The #highschoolart hashtag on Instagram is a big collaboration board,” says Suzy Smith, a high school art teacher in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. “I check it to see what types of projects other schools do.” Her class has its own account, @lsw_art, where she posts exceptional student artwork and photos of their weekly assignments-in-progress. “So often, teens are controlled in their environment to only produce things within specific guidelines.
