Today, Thailand celebrates Loy Krathong (known as the Festival of Lights), a 1,000 year-old festival in which Krathong, or floats, are set adrift on the water. The Peninsula Bangkok’s prime location on the Chao Phraya River makes for a spectacular backdrop as thousands of krathong light up the river in honour of the water goddess.
This year, the hotel prepares various activities to ensure that guests are treated to superb cuisine, music and puppet shows performed by the award-winning Joe Louis Theatre. Guest will also get a chance to receive their krathong and set it afloat from the hotel’s pier.
