@Thomas Peschak photographing a manta ray for the 2008 @ナショナルジオグラフィック story "Feeding Frenzy". Growing up as a ocean obsessed kid I was enthralled by the books and documentaries of Austrian biologist and pioneering underwater photographer/filmmaker Hans Hass. The cover of his 1952 book depicts a beautiful painting of Dr. Hass filming a manta ray. As a child I dreamed of experiences like this and hoped they would one day become real. They did...and I am still supremely grateful for all the magical marine life encounters I have while on assignment.
