An Afghan Hound runs across a photo studio during a portrait session at the Westminster Dog Show. The Afghan, which is my favorite dog to photograph, got so excited after this image was taken that he ran out of the studio and into an adjoining ballroom. The aesthetics of the Afghan, as well as all other breeds of domestic dog, is an example of #selectivebreeding, a technique in which particular traits are bred for in a species. This is a good illustration of how #naturalselection occurs in the wild.

I have had the good fortune to working on many amazing stories for the Geographic. The most interesting for me have been the stories dealing with #Darwin & #AlfredRusselWallace, the two fathers of the Theory of #Evolution.
I'm currently working on a book about the Physical Evidence of Evolution, Volume 1.
