@prod84 on @GuyMariano: "Guy is the legend of all legends, plain and simple. The first time I ever met him was when I was on @girlskateboards. @jeremerogers and I were skating flatground in the Girl warehouse and he just walked in. I was in complete shock because at that time he was like a mythical figure. I had only heard stories about him but hadn’t seen him. He must have been around 25. I thought he and @erickoston were the best skaters ever! My favorite Guy part was Mouse because that’s the era I started skating in, and that was the first part I saw of his. I thought it was great, but I couldn’t really appreciate how great it was ‘til a couple years later when I actually knew what stance he was and what the tricks were. Then I went back and saw Video Days as well, and of course that was great too. I literally feel like everything he does blows my mind, but if I had to pick one favorite trick, I would say it was the switch front shove krook on a 6 stair round rail that he did on Fabian Alomar’s board in the credits of Mouse, probably about 20 years ago. I never understood why that trick was in the credits?!?! I don’t even know how to put his influence on skateboarding into words. His talent is remarkable. He always sets the bar every time he puts out a part. He always had a cool style and so much more. This short answer can’t even do him any justice" Watch #LifeOnVideo, a five-part tribute to Guy Mariano and his video parts on theberrics.com.
