Why do we love one little creature with the same features as another creature we choose to eat? ?? We all smell the stench of cow feces as it makes its way through our car filtration systems and we cringe, trying to hold our breath for a minute til we pass the jam packed, filthy fields full of heffers. Yet, 95% of us make our way down the freeway and take an exit to grab a bun that sandwiches the dead body of one of those innocent creatures who once resided in one of the world's most disgusting places. We don't think about who we are eating because these places, which house and send off their could-be pets to slaughter, are only accessible to those who travel through less populated areas. We don't think about who we are eating because their crying eyes and bleeding bodies don't appear before us on a menu that's conveniently been designed to increase our appetite. We don't think about who we are eating because we convince ourselves they're "just animals", seemingly incapable of conveying emotion in a human form.
