Back when hurricane sandy shut the lower part of Manhattan down, all subway systems were put in the dark. The gates, powerless, we're open to anyone who dared see the undercity as most people don't- empty and without light. My friends and I decided that we liked how it sounded, and so we spent a while down in the tunnels, illuminated by camera flashes and phone lights. Here's a picture of my buddy Joseph, as he and I ran through the blackness of union square. #NYC #HurricaneSandy
