READ IF YOUR A DESIGNER OR ARTIST????Detail shot , in 2006 I met Gerard Basquiat , Jean Michel Basquait father and we discussed his son and his art , after which I went to work on designing this new way of thinking of art on a shoe. I asked reebok for the patterns of the freestyle.. They were reluctant to give me these after a few months I got them and then went to work creating a visual language that that was made of Jean Michel's art , color pallet and hand script which you can see here on the label and the straps ! This shoe was important because it literally changed the way people / designers /companies Reebok ,Adidas , Nike ....thought about how to make shoes and art on them in a new and different way from printing to materials ! This visual DNA that I created ended up being the catalyst for years to come for future Reebok projects with Jean's art work...
