Tonight I led worship back at ORU. It was so good to be back at a place that is special to me and helped me find some of my dearest best friends that I have to this day. I started really learning who I was when I was in college here and started my life journey of fulfilling the calling I have on my life. It was kinda funny tho. I worked at sonic across the street from the Mabee center (where I sang tonight) while I was a student and would constantly see tour buses and concerts or events happening there and would walk the parking lot of sonic and sweep and just talk to the Lord about what was in my heart for ministry and worship! I even served a cheeseburger to a Christian artist one night and as she walked away I just quietly told the Lord I really wanted to do something similar to her. This was in 2000. Little did I know that 15 years later I would lead a night of worship in the Mabee center..and be fulfilling way more than what I even dreamed as I swept the sonic parking lot. In essence I think I'm still just a carhop at sonic..I'm still just serving people as I lead worship- helping them get full of God's presence and goodness, Instead of burgers and fries (which are good too). Thank you ORU for being a part of some of the most formative and early years of me learning who I was and the power of worship. Tonight was special.
