Bessie Coleman was the first African American Female Pilot. She was refused admission to American Aviation school because she was black & a woman. She never gave up on her dreams though, instead she learnt French & moved to Paris to earn her aviation license. She flew in air shows, performed daring stunts & was known as 'Queen Bee'. She was an opportunist when it came to her career but had strong principles & fought racial stereotypes. She had dreams of opening an aviation school for young black aviators in the US but died at the age of 34 before she could fulfill that dream. She was pretty much a badass. #internationalwomensday
