For our final day in #Chamonix we embarked on a full value tour into Switzerland, complete with heinous 120km winds, ugly sastrugi, rapid warming, extra firm skinning, a wee bit of rock fall, lots of breakable crust, and even a little bit of that smooth hot pow. The biggest lessons I learned here are as follows: being scared is relatively normal (and probably justified), no good turn ever comes without a substantial amount of effort, exits are always a bit hairy and more complicated than one may first assume, and a day spent in these mountains chalks up to a pretty damn good day on the life experience scale - no matter what the conditions present.
