I forgot to post this but I had chicken n waffles at The Drake a few weeks ago and.........let me just....like...I have to gather myself because Im getting excited just thinking about this. Let me start with the chicken. This was the best fried chicken I have ever had. It had the most perfect crispy skin and the flavour of the meat was everything and more. I can only deduce that the chickens slaughtered for this meal were a direct decendant of the first chickens from the Garden of Eden, the same lineage of chickens that survived the Great Deluge safely stowed away aboard Noah's Ark. Before they gave their lives they were blessed by a shaman, priest, rabbi, buddhist monk, and an imam. Then subsequently beheaded in running stream at the base of Mount Olympus with a Samarai sword blessed by blind 100y/o Shito priest....IT WAS THAT GOOD. The waffles were fluffy, light and had some kind of herb in it that can probably only be found in the Elysian Fields.Topped with a cranberry syrup and craisins which were soaked in that sweet syrupy cranberry crack! There was also dollop a of yogurt? Sour Cream? Fermented milk of a Unicorn? Im not sure what it was but it was friggin delicious. Of course I added bacon on top which just made it even better that I thought possible. Friend on the farm reunited in my mouth!!
