Gueckedou is a transit and commerce hub for communities in Guinea's forest region. Most rural communities in this part of the country rely on agriculture for survival; farming rice, bananas, coffee, Palm oil and other crops for consumption and sale. On any given morning, one sees large numbers of people hauling their goods to market in Gueckedou.
