#DukeRiley is a Brooklyn-based artists who is interested in the space where water meets the land. His nautical-inspired work has been shown all around NYC--including BKM. Riley returns for this year’s #BKArtistsBall to create an installation inspired by Ancient Roman naval battles (known as naumachia) and his 2009 project “Those About to Die Salute You.” For this performance, Riley and his team designed and created boats and pit crews of museum staff from across the boroughs (BKM staff included) to battle against each other at the World’s Fair reflecting pool.
