I remember being a student, sitting in school, avoiding my teachers’ eyes after they asked a question that I knew the answer to. What if it was wrong? I would look an idiot in front of the whole class, or what if I was right and my teacher then figured that I knew the answers to other questions and started calling on me? And of course, when someone finally became brave enough to raise their hand, and their answer mirrored mine, I would internally kick myself for not taking the opportunity. I see this trend in people in their adult and working lives often: They want to take a chance and they have an idea of how they can make it work, but they are too fixed in their current way of life and thinking to take the leap. Why are you scared to take a chance on something, even when you know that the outcome could be amazing and profitable? Are you scared of failure? Do you how many times the founder or Starbucks got denied for funding back when Starbucks just a dream? 223 times. Failure is only a matter of perspective. Each setback presents itself with lessons, which help to mold us into the people we are meant to be. If we don’t try, we don’t grow. As a business owner I’ve come to appreciate the person who would raise their hand in class with an answer or a question. Those people who take the initiative to solve a problem or question the way something is are the type of people who provoke and encourage change. Don’t bring up a problem unless you have a proposed solution. There are plenty of people pointing out the things that are wrong in the world but very few who are proposing ways we can fix them. Don’t just think about it, do something about it. What’s worse than any type of failure is the lack of will to try. Just because some people can see what's outside the box doesn't mean that great answers aren't found by looking there.?
