This house was built in the 1760s. It stood at 16 Elm Street in the center of Ipswich, Massachusetts, 30 miles north of Boston. In 1963, the house was carefully taken apart and shipped to the museum, where it's still on view today. Five of the stories of families who lived there are showcased in the "Within These Walls" exhibition.
