Just like last week’s #PurpleBloboftheWeek we are again looking towards the tropics. This time, rather than the West Pacific we are heading into the South Indian Ocean where Tropical Cyclone Joalane is churning up seas worthy of a LOLA Purple Blob. TC Joalane is located about 500 miles ENE of Mauritius and is tracking southward. Some additional strengthening is expected by Joalane over the next 24hrs before the system enters a less favorable environment and begins to weaken. Swell generated by Joalane will primarily impact Mauritius, Reunion Island and parts of Madagascar over the coming days.
Further out, we will need to keep an eye on the remnants of Joalane next week for any potential interaction with the mid-latitude systems tracking through the South Indian Ocean. As of right now the system doesn’t look to have a significant or direct impact on the @世界プロサーフィン連盟（WSL） event at Margaret River but the #SurflineForecast team will be watching for separate storms to potentially set up significant swell for the beginning of the waiting period. @KKorteSurfline
