I am so thankful for and proud of the AVP (US Tour), FIVB (World Tour), USAV (our federation) & USOC (US Olympic Committee) for their high standards of equality, it has never once crossed my mind that I might make less or more than my male counterparts. But I realize that this is a frustrating reality for many women and it's just plain unjustified. It stems from antiquated thinking and societal beliefs which, granted, caused a historical difference in education and attitudes about careers, but also opportunity, and now all that is MORE THAN outdated and beyond comprehension. That a woman would make 78cents when a man makes $1 for the same job just doesn't make any sense. Time to square things up already!! #NationalEqualPayDay (this goes for everyone btw, disparities exist everywhere!) For a much better rant check out @mattmcgorry's last 3 posts⚡️
