Food can tell you a lot about the place you’re in. That’s why I always go straight to the local markets when I arrive on a layover. I look for something unusual, that I’ve not seen before, and then I jump straight in for a bite – this way I can’t be frightened by what it might be! I’ve ended up eating insects, scorpions, kangaroo and other interesting things on my travels. I find that by doing this I don’t just have great visual memories of destinations I visit, but also a flavour of the place too. #cathaytravels #crewdiaries #lifewelltravelled
