Icelandic Poppies have quickly risen to the top of my all time favorite flower list. Their tissue paper like blooms come in a rainbow of colors and add depth and drama to any arrangement. While they look so fragile, cut stems actually last quite well in a vase, as long as you sear them directly after harvest. To do this, dip the bottom of the stems into two-three inches of boiling water for seven to ten seconds, then place into cool water.
