PORTER STANDでは「旅」というコンセプトを元にPOSTがセレクトした写真集を販売しています。
本日は、新たに加わった写真集の中 から「No Photographing」をご紹介いたします。
ドイツの写真家Timm Rautertはアメリカにあるアーミッシュのコミュニティを訪れ、彼らの様子 を写真に収めようとしましたが、現代の技術を一切使わず18世紀の生活スタイルを 続けている彼らにとって、それは受け入れられない行為でした。
撮影をすることができずにその地を後に しますが、4年後に他のコミュニティで撮影することを交渉し「許可は出来ないが、 撮影を禁止することもしていない」というあいまいな承諾によって撮影をすることが可能になりました。
数週間の滞在で撮影された、アーミッ シュの生活を写した貴重な作品です。

At PORTER STAND we carry photobooks selected by Post under a concept of "TRIP". Among the selections, today we would like to introduce "No Photographing" which is a new book added in the line-up.
Timm Rautert (German photographer) visited the Amish community in the US and attempted to take photos of their lives.
However that was not something acceptable for the Amish people who continue to live in the lifestyle back in the 18th century without using any new technologies.
He leaves the community without taking photos, however he negotiates with a different community after 4 years. There he was able to receive a vague permission "We would not be able to permit, but we do not say that we prohibit photo shooting" and was able to take photos.
This is a very precious photo book taking the life of the Amish within his stay during several weeks.
