The little bear has just flown east (via plane, not me throwing him into the sky) to do a movie with mama for a couple of months. My heart swells and breaks every time I see a picture or talk to him. I keep telling myself I should be so lucky to have people that I love so much that I wake up gasping in the absence and realization that they aren't there. Then my mind wraps around the truth, that this is just a movie, a safe and beautiful experience, just a plane ride away...I can't comprehend what it must be like to have a child go off to war. I understand now why my dad didn't sleep for months during my brother's deployment. My brother in-law has done 5 tours. How do his parents emotionally navigate that? Love and Respect to every parent of a solider. Stronger people than I. #littlebitofperfect #littlebitofheartbreak
