Turtle Sandbox games co-founder Theresa Duringer (@tduringer) has a passion for creating innovative #games. Her latest, Cannon Brawl, is a colorful and creative RTS romp where combatants hurl explosives at each other. She and her partner developed Cannon Brawl on an Intel-powered laptop, and she says continuous improvements in hardware and software are vital to the indie #gaming movement. “Right now, there are so many tools out there for people to make games. I couldn’t have made Cannon Brawl five years ago.” Duringer is a second-generation game developer, her mother worked for @エレクトロニック・アーツ, and diversity in gaming is an important issue to her. “When I started in the industry, almost a decade ago, I didn’t see as many women represented. I’m excited now because I’ll go out to cafes and hear women next to me talking about game development ideas.
