Members of the Dolphin Club jump off a barge and get ready for a swim from the Bay Bridge back to their club in Aquatic Park. Fifty years a ago very few people would swim in the San Francisco Bay because of widespread water pollution. Starting in the 1970s, restoration efforts and regulations have made remarkable progress in improving the water quality in the Bay.
