I met this beautiful woman Shannon two years ago and we instantly became friends. She had he brightest personality & was so full of life that I would have never guessed she had a terminal disease like cancer. They told her there was no cure...she was my age and didn't have long according to them. But she fought. She chose to live and be happy, never letting this disease or any negative thoughts get her down. I can't imagine where she got that strength and courage from. I just received the devastating news that she passed. I can only imagine how devastated her friends & family must be. The news took my breath away. She and her friend traveled and lived while she could with so much courage & positivity. She had a tough road but always tweeted and emailed me...kept me in the loop & sent me Texas care packages! Incredibly, she offered to help me when both my dogs died. I am sad the world lost her today and pray for her family. She was and will remain my hero. Shannon Underwood - reminds me and hopefully others about appreciation, courage and the ability to endure and thrive through life's ultimate challenges. My love, prayers, support and tears to all who knew her & anyone else suffering from this terrible disease.
