I have two favorite forms of human powered locomotion: bicycles and kayaks. I would much rather take a bike on land or a kayak on water than the motorized alternatives. There's something about the quietness of the paddle or cycle, the wind in your face, the smells in the air. You really experience the trip rather than just transporting from place to place. Here, a kayak sits ready for adventure on the east coast of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. And yes, it did produce some good adventures for me while I was visiting this beautiful country.
