These botanical glasshouses are made of 893 unique, curved glass pieces held in stainless steel frames. They connect to historic brick mill buildings, forming the Bombay Sapphire gin distillery in Laverstoke, England. Architect Thomas Heatherwick designed it to honor the site’s history while infusing a modern feel. “It feels rude to go around the world imprinting your design DNA everywhere,” Thomas says. “Every project needs its own philosophy.” See more at go.ted.com/glasshousegin
