This woman, pictured in a refugee camp in the #Kurdistan region of northern Iraq, told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ she was raped by Islamic State militants. In the year since ISIS announced it was reviving slavery as an institution, the systematic rape of women and girls from the Yazidi religious minority has become deeply enmeshed in the group’s radical theology. The terrorist group has created an infrastructure, with a network of warehouses where victims are held, viewing rooms where they are inspected and marketed, and a dedicated fleet of buses used to transport them.
