About the Shot: We were given the keys to a crawlers dream when our friend @beardegidio let us go shoot at @hollywoodsports in LA. After taking a quick rip around the park, we found this destroyed car on one of the paintball fields. Because this location is in the middle of the city and we were shooting right after sunset, there was still light coming from the sun, and light pollution getting caught in the upper clouds. With these conditions we wanted to do a 10 second exposure, using a polarizer.
How the Shot was Captured: Knowing that we wanted to spin steel wool here, we made sure to pick a spot that had minimal risk of the flying embers starting a fire in the dry grass. In order to get the perfect umbrella shape from the wool, I started the photo after Billy had already begun spinning. When first spinning, the embers don't fall as uniform as they do when the spin is at top speed.

Camera Settings: 10 second exposure / ISO 100 / GoPro Color / Native Temperature / low sharpness / @PolarPro polarizer filter

#ProTip: We have never started a fire while spinning steel wool because we always take the proper precautions. ALWAYS, regardless of if its in a concrete tunnel, or in a field, have water on deck and a look out for potential hazards.
