An #endangered Red-Faced Huacary named "Chavo," perches in a tree at the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm and #Amazon Animal Orphange near Iquitos #Peru. These #animals, that live near the border with Colombia, have been driven nearly to extinction by deforestation fueled by the coca trade and resource exploitation. The orphanage gives shelter to a variety of mammals, reptiles and birds that are either injured or otherwise in need of care and a home (hopefully temporary.) #monkey #endangeredspecies
