Dutch artist #TheovanDoesburg was born today in 1883. He was among the founders of the #DeStijl movement with the group's original members Vilmos Huszár, Piet Mondrian, Bart van der Leck, and Georges Vantongerloo. In 1924, van Doesburg rebelled against Mondrian’s programmatic insistence on the restriction of line to vertical and horizontal orientations, and began to produce "Counter-Compositions." His 1925-26 "Counter-Composition XIII" is part of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (@guggenheim_venice). ??▫️?
