Alexander Zyulev did a kong vault on a rooftop in #Chinatown in New York. Several years ago, @benfrankephoto became interested in #parkour, a sport that has roots in training designed for French commandos. These days, parkour is all about running, jumping over objects and doing flips off surfaces. @benfrankephoto was attracted to the sport’s “freedom of movement.” So he got to know some parkour practitioners. Then he covered them in flour, turned on his flash and captured them in action. In the resulting images, the flour trails behind the athletes, appearing as a sort of mist or vapor. “It shows the dynamics almost like video would,” he said. adding that his aim was to illustrate “the same sort of motion and energy” in a still photo.
