More ? from Damian Lillard’s @4barfriday series: Meet 23-year-old Milwaukee-bred emcee L.E.X (@1lexdarapper). L.E.X. has become a series staple, showcasing his rhymes and getting to work with other #4BarFriday rappers, whom he now calls “brothers.” “One week, we got on WhatsApp,” he recalls, “and we’re like, ‘Let’s all rap on this beat on Friday, and then we’ll make it like a cipher, online.’” Still, while he admits the exposure is great, it takes more than four bars for an artist to prove their worth. “People put a lot of effort into four bars,” he says. “But it takes even more effort to put it into a verse and a song.
