Real talk!! My career as a Personal trainer over the past 4 years has taught me so much. It has not only taught me so much about my own body and how it works but it has really made me understand how truly important 'feeling confident' is to other people. Everyone wants to feel good. Everyone wants to be happy with what they See in the mirror whether they admit it or not. I know I base majority of my perception of my own body on what I see in the mirror. It's only natural to think that what you 'see' and perceive yourself as, to think others see you the same way. Some base it on the number on the scales, or the way their clothes fit. But the truth is - we are the biggest critics of ourselves. We always will be because there are 1000s of others to compare ourselves to. And I hate that it feels that way. Because everyone is beautiful in their own way, everyone has something that someone else doesn't. If you work hard for your body and to feel fit, strong and happy then that's all that matters - people will notice. Seeing my clients change their body is amazing, but seeing them change their perception of themselves from negative and critical to positive and proud is even more amazing. I kept thinking about the way my body's changed after having a huge holiday break. Because I work so hard and all I want to see is fast results, even though I KNOW it takes time and patience. The other day my boyfriend said to me, 'You have to be happy with what you have and be confident with that'. And that made me stop and think fuck yeah I do. I should be proud and stop worrying, and so should you!
