#ColeslawCatNotSalad update:
Coleslaw came home today - YAY!! He still needs to take meds and be monitored over the next few days to ensure he drinks enough water, uses the litter box regularly and adjusts to his new diet... but all of these things should help to give him the best possible quality of life!

The vet said it's unusual for a young cat (he's less than 2 years old) to have such an affliction but some things happen for no apparent reason; it could be congenital - we may never know. It just seems he's "always" had a kidney issue and the blood in his pee (which was a Urinary Tract Infection or UTI) was a symptom that showed up later. The important thing is that it was detected early enough to be treated and that is what we are focussing on right now.
