Photo @Keith Ladzinski / Professional climber @joe.kinder seen here on a difficult and steep route inside a large cave near Hurricane Utah. This genre of climbing is called "sport climbing" and is a style defined by the pre-placing of small bolts used to clip the carabiners and rope through for protection. The intent is to free climb the route, which is to only use the bolts as protection and not as a source of aid. This was developed in the early 1970's and opened up the possibility to new terrain that was otherwise unprotect-able, like this incredible line Joe is on seen here.
